The Bank for International Settlements is an international organisation which fosters international monetary and financial cooperation via wide-ranging banking, economic research and policy coordination activities. Operating from the geographical centre of Europe in Basel, Switzerland, with representative offices in Hong Kong and Mexico City, we serve as a bank for central banks and act as a forum for discussion, research and policy analysis for central banks.
